It’s been a while since I posted about my pregnancy, and I sure many of you already know why. Life has gotten a lot busier. Our handsome little boy was born on August 12th at 2:57 a.m. We had a really great birth experience at Saiseikai hospital in Fukui, Japan. I’ll post my birth story soon for those of you who might be interested in the finer details. In short, I gave birth naturally to a healthy 3810g baby boy. He was quite large compared to Japanese standards, but still slightly smaller than his sister when she was born. We created a birth plan this time around to minimize any cultural differences that could have lead to miscommunications and disappointments. We were truly blessed to have a doctor and hospital staff that really respected our birth plan and did their best to follow it. God was definitely watching out for us. Thank you for your prayers!
As many of you know we affectionately refer to our daughter as the Bunny. After much debate, we have settled on an animal name for our son, too. We now have a Bunny and a Turtle, and he’s turtle-y cute! You’re probably familiar with the classic children’s story, “The Tortoise and the Hare” which inspired our son’s nickname. He may be slow moving now, but the Bunny should watch out because it won’t be long until he is chasing after her.
